Welcome to West Lothians housing options wizard

This web based tool asks a series of questions in order to gather information on your current housing circumstances.  It uses the information you provide to point you in the direction of which housing options may be available to you in the West Lothian area.  It is important  to make sure the information you submit accurately reflects your current circumstances. You may if you wish anonomyse your name, telephone details and e mail address.  If you do not submit your correct email you will not be emailed your action plan.  The information you submit to this site will not be shared with any third parties and is fully secure.  The information you submit is also covered by the Data Protection Act.

Why not just wait for a Social Housing tenancy

Social Housing is in great demand and often people can wait a long time before being offered a Council  property. Housing options are the alternatives to Social Housing which may make it easier and quicker for you to move house.

What housing options are available?

There are many different options available but they are not suitable for everyone. Using this wizard you will be able to see which options are suitable for you. 

Some of the available options include:

• Shared ownership
• Mutual Exchange
• Social Housing
• Mortgage rescue
• Sheltered housing
• Private rented housing

On average it takes between 10 to 15 minutes to enter your personal information. You may then want to take time to read through your options, but remember you can come back to your case anytime by using the unique reference number the system will provide. You can also print out your action plan for future reference.
